Hi my loves! My name is Araia, and I’m the founder of Araia Chanel’s Essentials (ACE), a brand inspired by real curl journeys, real stories, and a whole lot of love for natural hair.

My connection to hair care started long before I ever touched a product jar. Growing up with a mom who was a professional hairstylist, I spent half my childhood in salon chairs and behind the scenes. Salons were never just about hairstyles. They were safe spaces where people laughed, vented, healed, and walked out feeling like the best version of themselves. That energy and that sense of community stayed with me.

But like most of us, my own natural hair journey had its twists. When I was in 6th grade living with my dad, I heat damaged my hair badly. Without my mom there to help, I turned to the natural hair community on YouTube. I soaked up everything: DIY recipes, deep conditioning routines, the trial and error, all of it. Slowly, I learned how to bring my curls back to life.

I transitioned, big chopped in 8th grade, fell in love with my curls again, then dyed my hair every color possible in high school: red, purple, green, blue, blonde. I loved expressing myself, but I definitely damaged my curls again and had to restart my journey junior year. And honestly, I didn’t mind. I loved the process. The growth. The way natural hair teaches you patience and confidence.

Through every stage, whether it was heat damage, big chops, bold colors, breakage, or regrowth, I learned something important. Natural hair isn’t meant to be perfect. It’s meant to speak. It’s meant to take up space. It’s meant to tell a story.

That realization is what inspired the creation of ACE.

I wanted to create clean, all natural, nourishing products that don’t force curls to fit a mold. Products that let curls show out. Big, bold, full of life. Curls with personality. Curls that speak volumes.
